Incoterms allocate costs, obligations and transfer of risk between seller and buyer. They replace neither the sales contract nor customs and tax planning. Always specify the named place and Incoterms version.
EXW shifts many operational obligations to the buyer. FCA is often more precise when the seller handles export formalities and hands over at a named place.
02
FOB is for sea and inland waterway transport
FOB refers to delivery on board at the named port of shipment. FCA may be more appropriate for container deliveries, depending on the process.
03
DAP and DDP
DAP separates transport to destination from import responsibility. DDP assigns extensive import obligations to the seller and only makes sense where they can be fulfilled legally and for tax purposes.
